About

The foundation’s name, Catch the Cure, was derived from Kyle’s love of fishing and his hope of his medical team finding a cure for cancer. Kyle loved nothing more than casting a line, with his dog Jake by his side, on that first sunny day of fishing season in the Northeast Kingdom. The foundation raises money through community events. To date, Catch the Cure has been supported by golf tournaments, a corn hole tournament, a children’s carnival and individual donations. Since its inception, Catch the Cure has raised over $75,000 to help those in need..

One of the largest fundraisers is an annual golf tournament. Kyle was a gifted golfer with a zero handicap, who envisioned a “Las Vegas” style golf tournament with proceeds going to a foundation. The foundation, in turn, would provide an on-going monthly stipend to the person with cancer who lives in, or has a connection to, the NEK. The monetary gift would be used for anything the person needs, including but not limited to; medical expenses, travel costs related to care, medications, meals, or simply something fun or comforting.

The annual Catch the Cure Golf Tournament began in 2021 and the foundation was set up shortly after. More golf tournaments and other fundraisers are being planned and with your support and/or participation, we hope to help many more of your neighbors and friends.
