A Generous
Spirit Lives On

Kyle Buttice, a lifelong resident of the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) of Vermont, was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic melanoma when he had just turned 30. He fought with grace, realism and optimism until he succumbed to the disease in October 2020, at age 33. Throughout his battle, the NEK community gave him and his family love, support, and, at times, financial assistance. Kyle wanted to make sure that no one else would go through cancer without assistance, and his idea of Catch the Cure was born.

Kyle’s parents, Patricia and Vincent Buttice, started Catch the Cure in Kyle’s memory. They are responsible for soliciting donations and distributing funds directly to NEK residents who have received a diagnosis of cancer. The act of generosity honors Kyle’s wish of paying it forward whenever you can. To date, the organization has raised over $75,000 that has gone directly back into the community to help those in need.
